Increasing Voter Turnout

Frustrations with dismal turnout in a too-close-to-call Sheriff's election drove North Louisiana Interfaith leaders to mount a community-wide Pledge to Vote effort. Our member institutions gathered more than 2,000 pledges and followed up with pledged voters throughout early voting until election day.

Pledge to Vote

When all was said and done, 88% of people who took the pledge to vote followed through. That wasn't all. By the time the polls closed, our coalition had knocked on more than 5,000 doors, made over 500 phone calls, sent 125,000 text messages, and mailed literature to 1,200 households.
